Unforetunately Marie never made it into a new home. Marie would have made such a loving dog for someone but never got that chance. I walked Marie once a week for a whole year, sometimes twice a week when we had our group walks. Marie would really lift my spirits if I was having a bad day. Her little propeller tail spinning around as she trotted about the place. I will miss her dearly as will the other dog walkers at Farnham kennels. Marie touched many hearts.
Here is the explanation from the Rescue Remedies forum about what happened:
`Dear Marie A recent injury triggered off an event which was creeping up upon her. Marie had a occluded bowel from a slow growth tumour. To repair the bowel due the extended nature of the compensated bowel would have been tricky and she probably wouldn't have made it through due to her weakened state. We would not put Marie through that what could have been a painful death. We sadly kissed Marie goodbye today. She will help us in our work. Our gratitude to our vet Ian and his team who tried so hard to help her, and the kennel staff who have helped her in her last few days. Marie resides in our hearts and has opened many a heart to enjoy her gifts and the gifts of her breed.'
