Baylee is looking for a new home due to a change in her families health circumstances, her family are heartbroken at having to rehome her. This is what her Mum says about this gorgeous little girl.
Baylee will be 3 on 11th August. She is a German Shepherd X Belgian Mallinois.
She is a very loving dog, loves her cuddles and a good belly rub. She has no issues of being touched all over, is fine to trim her nails, clean her ears etc and loves being groomed.
Her favourite activity is running through the forest, swimming, the beach and a tennis ball.
She has excellent recall, is good with other dogs off lead, fine with puppies, loves a game of chase. As she is a shep and people get nervous of her playing and chasing other dogs she has been trained to carry her ball, if she has a ball in her mouth they can't be scared of her biting! She never has! She is not interested in joggers, cyclists, football games or children running in the park while off lead.
On lead she will sometimes pull towards them but not always.
She behaves very well in the home. She is ok with cats at home but will chase one outside.
She waits for you to tell her to eat her food and has absolutely no food aggression. You can tell her to leave her food and she will. She does not beg or watch you while you are eating and will not eat any food dropped or left on the floor unless you tell her to. She loves a cuddle on the sofa but will look at you to ask if she can get on it.
She is good with children, they can tell her to sit, down, stay, leave, give paw etc and she will. She does like to go to her own space if she has had enough of them though.
She does have some nervous aggression towards strangers. This has been worked on and has improved dramatically. She used to bark and wet herself if people came into the home. Now she will bark and leave the room. After a while she will come back in, we get the person to ask for her paw and give her a treat then she is fine with them being there. She is fine with people at family parties and bbq's as long as she can go indoors to a quiet place if she wants to.
On a walk she will walk close to the wall if someone walks towards us. If there is a group of people she will bark. We get her to sit before they get in 'her space' and talk to her until they pass. If she is excited on the start of a walk and is pulling a bit we stop and she comes straight back to heel. She needs to live out of town not in a busy built up area due to her fear aggression.
She is fine left for a few hours, is happy to be crated (we leave it open and she will go in for some peace) she can get distressed if more than 4 hours. She travels well in the car and is fine on long journeys. She has also been on trains and busses.
